Accessibility

Websites everyone can use.

WCAG 2.2 AA, checked rather than assumed. We audit websites against WCAG 2.2 AA, fix what we find in code and content, and build new HubSpot sites to that standard from the first component.

What we do

Audit. Fix. Keep it fixed.

We look at headings, link text, image descriptions, colour contrast, forms and keyboard use, in your templates and in your content.

  • 01

    Accessibility audit

Your site tested against WCAG 2.2 AA with automated tests, keyboard checks and a page-by-page look at content, then a list of fixes in priority order.

  • 02

    Remediation

Templates and modules first, so one change repairs every page that uses them. Then we help your team correct headings, alt text and contrast in the content.

  • 03

    Accessible builds

New HubSpot websites built from components checked with axe-core, by keyboard and with reduced motion, at five screen widths, before sign-off.

How an audit runs

Find it. Fix it once. Check again.

Most issues live in a handful of templates. Fix those and every page that uses them is repaired.

  1. 1. Audit

    Test

    • Automated tests with axe-core
    • Keyboard-only checks
    • Page-by-page content review
    • Each issue logged with its page and WCAG criterion
  2. 2. Prioritise

    Sort

    • Level A first: the most serious
    • Then the rest of AA
    • Code issues apart from content issues
  3. 3. Fix

    Templates first

    • One fix repairs every page using it
    • Content fixes with your editors
    • Every fix checked again
  4. 4. Check

    Keep checking

    • Alongside independent assessors, such as the Shaw Trust
    • New pages checked as the site changes

How we ran it for GMPF in 2026: Level A issues in the code fixed first, then content fixes alongside GMPF's own page-by-page review.

Greater Manchester Pension Fund

Designed in from day one.

Accessibility was in GMPF's brief from the start, and the Shaw Trust was involved from the design stage.

  1. 2025, done

    Audit

Our audit of the old site covered accessibility alongside user experience, search and analytics. The Shaw Trust joined as GMPF's accessibility partner in June 2025.

  2. Apr to Sep 2026, done

    Build

20 components, each clean in axe-core, usable by keyboard and respecting reduced motion, tested at five screen widths before sign-off.

  3. Aug 2026, done

    Independent assessment

The Shaw Trust assessed the new site against WCAG.

  4. Sep 2026, done

    Code fixes first

Level A issues in the code fixed first, because they are the most serious.

  5. Autumn 2026, happening now

    Content and AA

Content fixes follow GMPF's own page-by-page review, then the rest of AA.

  6. Next, next

    Launch

The site goes live once GMPF's content review is complete.

Beyond the website

Accessible channels, not just pages.

Over 40% of Oaklands College students identify as neurodivergent, so a phone call was often the least accessible way to reach them. Every important admissions message now has a second route: WhatsApp alongside email.

“The experience felt natural, informal and accessible, especially important for neurodivergent or anxious learners.”

Questions about accessibility

What is WCAG 2.2 AA?

The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, version 2.2, are the international standard for accessible websites. Level AA is the level most organisations aim for.

Can you make our HubSpot site accessible without rebuilding it?

Often, yes. Many issues sit in a handful of templates and modules, so fixing those repairs every page that uses them. The audit tells us whether a rebuild would be better value.

Will our site be accredited?

WCAG is a standard, not an accreditation. Independent organisations such as the Shaw Trust assess websites against it, and we work alongside them, as we did for GMPF.

How much does an audit cost?

It depends on the size of the site and how many templates it uses. Project work is £992 a day, plus VAT, and we agree a quote with you before we start. See pricing.
